A few unique issues arise when cleaning a travertine bath or shower. The main issue we find is build up from soaps, shampoos and other products. This build up can both be felt when you rub your fingers over the travertine tiles as well as seen, usually a thick, chalky white film.
Using any standard shower cleaner that you buy at the store will wreak havoc on your natural stone tiles because they are again highly acidic and designed specifically to remove mineral deposits. Since travertine is a natural stone, it is also a mineral! Not what you want to use! Orlando Travertine Restoration has a gentle and safe method to clean your travertine shower, removing unwanted water spots, mineral stains and soap build up all while protecting the integrity and beauty of your stone.
Another common issue we find when cleaning travertine showers is mold and/or mildew. Whenever we encounter this on any surface, we dilegently work to identify the source and any other serious problems. We will deliver our findings to you and inform you of your options. We usually recommend the homeowner contact a qualified mold inspector and have any and all repairs completed before we will proceed with cleaning the travertine shower or bath. It is not in the homeowner's or our best interest to clean a shower or bath, knowing it will reoccur shortly after we have completed our service. If the source of the issue is not resolved, it will continue to be an issue, costing you more and more. Education before any sale has always been our motto, and continues to this day.
